Franken Votes To Pass Kagan Out Of Committee
Today, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted to approve the Supreme Court nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan by a vote of 13-6. General Kagan now awaits confirmation by the full Senate.
U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) voted to confirm General Kagan.
I'm going to vote for General Kagan," said Sen. Franken. "Because I think that General Kagan understands the place of the Supreme Court, and its relationship to the executive, to the legislature, and to the American people."
