Great Lakes Conservation

Senator Franken believes that one of his greatest responsibilities is to make sure that Minnesota’s lake culture is preserved for future generations.  He introduced the Great Lakes Ecosystem Protection Act with Senator Carl Levin, a Democrat from Michigan, to make sure that the government lives up to its promise to keep the Great Lakes clean and safe for centuries to come. The comprehensive bipartisan legislation would authorize funding for new and existing programs aimed at protecting and restoring the Great Lakes.
