Sen. Franken Congratulates Minnesotas Ten Paralympians
Paralympic Games to Open in London on Wednesday
In honor of tomorrow's Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) offered his congratulations and best wishes to the 10 Minnesotans representing the United States at this year's games in London.
"I know I speak on behalf of all Minnesotans when I say how proud we are of the athletes from our state who have been selected to compete against the world's best," said Sen. Franken. "Each of these individuals has an inspiring story and have overcome many hurdles to get to London. I wish them the best of luck during these games"
The 10 Minnesota athletes are: Chuck Aoki (wheelchair rugby), Sarah Binsfeld (wheelchair basketball), Anna Eames (swimming), Rose Hollerman (wheelchair basketball), Ian Lynch (wheelchair basketball), Paul Nitz (track and field), Aaron Pike (track and field), Jon Rydberg (wheelchair tennis), Mallory Weggeman (swimming), and Justin Zook (swimming).
